Our history
The history of ExxonMobil Egypt dates back to the year 1902, when kerosene was the first product. Today, ExxonMobil Egypt is a market leader in petroleum products and technology.
More than 115 years ago, the Vacuum Oil Company, a predecessor of Mobil, was registered for the first time in Egypt.
Around 1939, a subsidiary of Standard Oil Corporation of New Jersey, a predecessor of Exxon, began exploration for oil in Egypt. In 1946, the Jersey Standard succeeded in discovering oil in the Sinai and Ras Matarma.
In 2000, ExxonMobil Egypt was established after the merger of the ISO Standard Near East Company and the Mobil Oil Company Egypt. Building on this long and rich history, ExxonMobil Egypt continued to lead the Egyptian fuel and oil market.

In Egypt, we offer a full line of Mobil and ESO oils covering all applications, including the latest technologies in the field of synthetic oils. We have a market leadership position in petroleum product technology, and we also update and develop our oils products to meet and exceed demand levels.
95 percent of our oils are blended in our mixing plants with Max and Tenth of Ramadan (ISO 9002 certified), which are equipped with the latest automatic equipment.
The quality system is implemented in our laboratories in the Max Factory in Alexandria and the 10th in the 10th of Ramadan City. Mobil 1 centers provide engine oils for today’s high-performance cars and heavy trucks, which enhance performance and help engines reach their peak performance and last longer.
